#1 in the Map Pack - and a Second Location Two Months After Launch

Stumpt LLC · Forestry mulching & land clearing · Southern Illinois (Patoka) + West Jordan, Utah

Stumpt LLC launched a brand-new website in May 2026 with zero search presence. Within weeks: #1 in the Google map pack in Salem and Centralia, #2 in Mt. Vernon, a 5.0-star Google rating, and over 11,000 search impressions. Two months after the Illinois launch, Stumpt expanded with a full second-location site in Utah - 339 pages, built and live in a week.

(Search data pulled live from Google Search Console, July 22, 2026. Map-pack positions verified July 1, 2026.)

Where They Started

Jake Carruthers runs Stumpt out of Patoka, Illinois - skid-steer forestry mulching and land clearing for rural landowners across Marion, Washington, Clinton, Jefferson, and Clay counties, plus the Metro East St. Louis market. When he signed on in April 2026, he was out of the country on contract work. There was no website, no Google Business Profile presence, no way for a landowner searching “forestry mulching near me” to find him.

That was actually the plan: build everything while Jake was away, so the day he was back and ready for leads, the machine was already running.

What Brandloc Built

A 70+ page site engineered for local search. Fast, modern build (Next.js on Vercel): 10 dedicated service pages - including a land-clearing page targeting the region's biggest keyword group - 20+ city pages, 11 county pages, and 16 educational articles answering the questions landowners search (“what does forestry mulching cost,” “mulching vs. bush hogging”). Plus llms.txt so AI assistants can cite the site.

Pricing transparency as the wedge. Almost nobody in this market publishes prices. Stumpt does. That honesty angle runs through the whole site - matched to Jake's tagline: “You're proud of your land. We are too.”

Google Business Profile, live and winning. Verified profile, 5.0-star rating, and top map-pack positions: #1 in Salem, #1 in Centralia, #2 in Mt. Vernon (verified July 1, 2026).

Speed and conversion work. A July performance pass took the mobile Lighthouse score from 69 to 89. Every page carries a sticky Call / Text / Free Estimate bar on mobile, quote forms are embedded on all 16 articles, and before/after photo sliders from real Stumpt job sites show the work. Every lead flows into the CRM with tracked source attribution.

Clean local citations. Business listings pushed across the major directories with consistent name, address, and phone - the groundwork map rankings are built on.

The Results

  • ✓#1 map-pack rankings in Salem and Centralia, #2 in Mt. Vernon for a company that had zero online presence three months earlier.
  • ✓5.0-star Google rating.
  • ✓From zero to 11,600+ search impressions May through late July 2026 (1,934 in May, 4,939 in June, 4,769 through July 21) - Google now shows Stumpt for land-clearing and mulching searches across the region, including markets outside the core area like Effingham, where the site already ranks positions 5-7.
  • ✓Mobile Lighthouse score 69 → 89 after the July performance pass.

The Real Proof: Location #2

Two months after the Illinois site went live, Stumpt doubled down. In July 2026 Brandloc built and launched stumptllcutah.com- a full 339-page site for Stumpt's second location in West Jordan, Utah - in about a week, by adapting the proven Illinois playbook.

The Utah site isn't a copy-paste. It's built around Utah-specific opportunities: wildfire fuel-mitigation services tied to Utah's new HB 48 wildland-urban interface law, scrub-oak and Gambel-oak removal, vegetation management for utilities and HOAs, and weed abatement - service pages that almost no competitor in the Salt Lake Valley has built. Both sites cross-link, and the same pricing-transparency wedge applies in a market where nobody publishes prices.

One playbook, two markets, both live.

What's Next

Illinois: win the Metro East St. Louis market organically, expand county coverage, and keep the weekly content engine feeding the pages that rank. Utah: Google Business Profile launch and citations with the West Jordan address, then the same map-pack climb that worked in Illinois.

Launching in a new market? The playbook already exists. Brandloc builds local search systems for forestry, land-clearing, and excavation companies - including multi-location.
