What is the best marketing for an electrician?

A combination of map-pack visibility for urgent local searches and in-depth cost content for planned upgrade work. Emergency electrical searches such as "electrician near me" or "power out in half the house" convert immediately and depend on Google Business Profile strength. High-value jobs - panel upgrades, EV charger installation, rewiring, generator installs - are researched for weeks and are won by whoever publishes the clearest, most honest cost and process information. Most electricians compete for the first and completely ignore the second, which is where the margin actually is.

Help customers plan the bigger jobs.

A tripping breaker gets searched and called within minutes. A panel upgrade, a whole-home rewire, an EV charger or a standby generator gets researched for weeks - cost, permits, timelines, whether the existing service can carry it. By the time that homeowner calls, they have largely chosen.

Electricians almost universally optimise for the first kind of job and publish nothing for the second. That leaves the highest-margin work in your area to whoever bothered to answer the questions online, and it is rarely the best electrician.

Show up for the work you want.

Upgrade-work cost contentPanel upgrades, rewires, EV chargers and generators are researched heavily and explained badly. Honest cost ranges and process explanations capture buyers weeks ahead of the quote request.
EV charger installation pagesOne of the fastest-growing residential electrical searches, and still under-served in most markets. Dedicated pages per charger type and per town are unusually easy to rank right now.
Emergency term map-pack rankingUrgent faults are proximity-weighted searches decided in the map pack. Categories, services and review volume drive that far more than your website does.
Commercial and residential separationIf you do both, one blended site serves neither well. The buyers, the search language and the decision timelines are entirely different.
Licence and safety trust signalsElectrical carries genuine perceived risk. Licence numbers, insurance detail and clear safety credentials measurably improve conversion on high-ticket quotes.
Estimate follow-up automationLarge electrical quotes are compared against two or three others over days. Automated, non-pushy follow-up recovers a meaningful share of jobs that would otherwise go silent.

Answer the upgrade questions

Residential electrical demand has shifted. EV charger installation, panel capacity upgrades and whole-home generators are growing quickly, and in most markets nobody has built proper content for them - so the searches are being answered by manufacturer pages and national directories rather than by the electrician who would actually do the work.

That is an unusually soft target. A genuinely useful page explaining what a 200-amp upgrade costs in your area, or what a Level 2 charger install involves in an older house, will often rank with far less effort than a generic "electrician near me" page - and it attracts a much larger job. The mechanics are the same local SEO work, aimed somewhere less crowded.

  • EV charger installation - growing fast, thin local competition in most markets
  • Panel upgrades - high ticket, heavily researched, almost no honest cost content published
  • Whole-home generators - long consideration window, strong margin
  • Rewiring older homes - anxiety-driven, so trust content converts unusually well

What I bring to electrical specifically

Openly: no electrical clients on the roster at the moment. My background is over ten years running marketing inside a contracting business, and the pattern behind electrical marketing - urgent local search on one side, high-ticket researched purchases on the other - is the same pattern I have built for in other trades.

The licensing detail, permit language, and commercial side need your input. We would review those specifics together before publishing, with a clear distinction between my contractor marketing experience and work in your trade.

Electrician marketing questions

How much does electrician marketing cost?

Plans run $497 to $9,997 per month, month-to-month. Foundation and Growth have a $1,000 one-time setup fee; Private Partnership has no setup fee. Most electrical contractors start on Foundation - website, Google Business Profile, local SEO, CRM and reviews - and review paid advertising based on readiness and goals. If you are targeting EV charger and panel upgrade work specifically, the content depth in the Growth plan is usually what makes the difference.

How do electricians get more leads?

Two separate motions. For urgent work, rank in the map pack across every town you serve and answer calls quickly. For profitable upgrade work - panels, EV chargers, generators, rewires - publish genuinely useful cost and process content, because those buyers research for weeks and choose whoever answered their questions best.

Is marketing EV charger installation worth it?

In most markets, yes, and it is currently one of the easier wins in the trade. Search volume is climbing, the jobs are well paid, and local competition for the term is thin because most electricians have not built pages for it. That combination rarely lasts long.

Should I market commercial and residential electrical together?

Separate them. Commercial buyers are project managers and facilities staff searching different language on longer timelines; residential buyers are homeowners searching symptoms. One blended page compromises for both. Separate sections let each rank and convert on its own terms.

Will you work with my competitors?

No. One electrical client per service area.

Do you have electrical clients?

Not currently. The Brandloc roster is land clearing, forestry, excavation, remodeling and general contracting, and every result quoted on this page is attributed to those trades. I would rather be plain about that up front than have you find out after signing.
